A little wooden ornament featuring a hand-carved fish, handmade by Susan Evans. This piece features yellow and black beads. It has a curved bottom and a lovely rocking motion, making it a lovely toy for a child (or adult!) The wood measures 12.5cm wide, 10.5cm high and 2cm deep. The ornament is hand-painted and hand-carved. It would look perfect in a child's nursery or coastal themed bathroom! (Item: 2183)

Susan Evans creates toys, sculptures, and automata using all kinds of wood. They are mainly intended for adults but it is a bonus if children like them too. She uses acrylic paint, washes, and coloured inks to decorate her work, and carves using air-dried lime and seals her pieces with a matte water-based varnish or wax polish. After training as a teacher of history she was appointed to a job in Grimsby on England’s east coast. There she began her artistic practice by making personal gifts for friends from materials found on the beach: driftwood, recycled wood, and other found objects.
